YOUNGSVILLE – Joe Bennett rushed for 191 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries to lead Curwensville (4-1) to a 34-20 win over Youngsville (2-3) in an interdivisional AML match-up Friday night at Youngsville.
The Golden Tide led just 14-6 at halftime but outscored Youngsville 14-6 in the third quarter to build a 28-12 lead after three quarters of play.
Ryan Bilger added 18 rushes for 104 yards for the Golden Tide.
Curwensville’s defense held Youngsville to only 96 yards of total offense, but an 83-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Jamie Blum helped keep Youngsville in the game.
Jesse Walters led Youngsville going 6-for-19 for 66 yards and a touchdown while also throwing and interception. In addition to his kickoff return, Blum also rushed for 51 yards on four carries.
