Kane Game


CURWENSVILLE – Joe Bennett rushed for 205 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries and added one catch for 17 yards and a score to lead Curwensville (7-1) to its sixth straight win, a 45-11 decision over Kane, Friday night at Curwensville.
The Golden Tide, whose only loss came by one-point in overtime to Ridgway in Week Two, raced out to a 19-3 halftime lead before taking a 38-3 lead at the end of three quarters.
Kane took an early 3-0 lead on a Jared Cecchetti field goal, but a 68-yard run by Bennett gave the Golden Tide a 6-3 lead at the end of the first quarter.
A 10-yard run by Bennett with 10:53 left in the first half gave Curwensville a 13-3 lead, and a 12-yard pass from Jim Thompson to Mark Records gave the Golden Tide a 19-3 halftime lead.
A 45-yard run by Bennett, and a 17-yyard pass from Thompson to Bennett gave Curwensville a 32-3 lead with 4:36 left in the third quarter. Brooks Collins then added six more points to the Golden Tide lead with a 15-yard run late in the third quarter, and Keegan Park’s 6-yard scoring run with 6:11 left in the game gave Curwensville a 45-3 lead.
A 3-yard run by Tyler Smith with 13 seconds left in the game accounted for the final score.
Prisk added 64 yards on 10 carries for Curwensville, while Collins had 54 yards on six carries. Thompson was 5-for-8 passing for 75 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. Records had four catches for 58 yards.
Smith was 8-for-26 passing for Kane for 122 yards and two interceptions. Mike Jamerson had thee catches for 62 yards.
Curwensville’s defense held Kane to 14 yards rushing on 18 carries, as Curwensville outgained Kane 436 yards to 136 yards.
